This is a world renowned Dept of Biochemistry and several significant discoveries have occurred in this department. The selection committee has identified several potential locations for artwork and will also consider other sites identified by artists. Potential sites include glass curtain wall and terrazzo floor treatments, an exterior gabion wall treatment and artwork in the exterior plaza and/or pathway between the surrounding buildings. The selection committee is interested in artwork that addresses the connection between art and biochemistry. US Artists interested in being considered for this commission must be able to demonstrate successful completion of public art projects with a budget of $100,000 or more. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2008.
