Colorado State University - Ft. Collins, CO
The Colorado Council on the Arts, Art in Public Places Program and the School of Arts at Colorado State University seek to directly purchase a piece of art for placement outside the new University Center for the Arts (UCA). The UCA houses a concert hall, two theatres, rehearsal and dressing room space, and a music hall. Upon completion this complex will also house faculty offices, classrooms, music practice and dance studios, and several large galleries. Deadline: Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Femme Film Texas Festival
The Femme Film Texas Festival in Austin, Texas features films and videos written, directed and produced by women and girls. The festival is accepting entries in the following categories: narrative feature, documentary feature, narrative short, documentary short, experimental/video art short and youth short. Entry fees vary from $10 - $45 based on deadline and category. Regular deadline is May 15, 2007. Late deadline is June 1, 2007. The festival will take place in Summer 2007 in Austin, Texas. Best of Fest will be awarded to in the following categories: narrative feature, documentary feature, narrative short and documentary short. Seeking Artists for 2007/08 Exhibition Season
SPACES, Northeast Ohio's artist-run, alternative art gallery, is accepting applications for its 2007/08 exhibition season. The gallery is seeking visual artists in all media, including video, installation, traditional media, web art, as well as proposals for curated exhibitions. Outdoor Exhibitions - San Francisco, CA
The South San Francisco Cultural Arts Commission is seeking existing sculpture available for temporary exhibit. There is no deadline. Gateway Public Art Project - Las Vegas, NV
The City of Las Vegas Arts Commission is looking for an artist or artist team to facilitate and implement site specific public sculpture(s). The sculpture(s) can be static or kinetic; however, the art should manifest the concept of a Gateway, or entry into the center of the Arts district. There is a need to ascertain that this work of art becomes a significant visual landmark, visible from a distance and be of a welcoming nature. Finalists will receive a $2,500.00 design fee. Jacksonville International Airport - Jacksonville, FL
The Jacksonville International Airport (JIA) Arts Commission invites artists to submit site-specific proposals for two installations in the soon to be built Concourses A & C. Artwork will center around two large glass windows and may be adhered to the existing windows, suspended from the ceiling or floor mounted. Each window is located at the end of a 500 foot concourse, but both windows will be visible from the central courtyard area. Artists can, but do not have to address the two adjoining side windows in their proposal. The total budget to include design, fabrication, installation and lighting of both installations is up to $250,000. Deadline: June 4, 2007. Artistic Bird Baths - Redwood City, CA
The Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission is seeking artists to design, build, and install artistic bird baths in Redwood City. The bird bath theme is open to interpretation and can range from traditional fountains to large scale contemporary installations, with a focus on creativity. This can include, but is not limited to, artists who work with concrete, stone, mosaics, metal, glass, light, sound, and mixed media. The artwork can be of any scale, but must provide water to birds. Artists who are selected will then enter into an agreement with Redwood City for fabrication and ownership of the artwork. Wing Luke Asian Museum Art Plan - Seattle, WA
Projects East and West Lightwell Art Installations The Wing Luke Asian Museum seeks two individual professional artists or one team of two professional artists to create East and West Lightwell Art Installations for its capital project to rehabilitate the historic EastKong Yick Building, located in Seattle's Chinatown-International District, as a regional cultural center that preserves the stories and promotes the voices of Asian Pacific Islander Americans (APIA) throughout the Pacific Northwest. Artist Trust/WSAC Fellowship Program
The Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowship Program recognizes practicing professional artists of exceptional talent and demonstrated ability, acknowledging an artist's creative excellence and accomplishment, professional achievement and continuing dedication to his or her artistic discipline. Now in its 20th year, the Fellowship award will increase from $6,000 to $6,500. The Artist Trust/WSAC Fellowship Program makes annual awards to artists working in four disciplines. In 2007 (and odd-numbered years), 21 individual, generative artists who reside in Washington State and work in Craft Arts, Literary Arts, Media Arts, and Music Arts will receive Fellowships (in even-numbered years, Fellowships are awarded to artists working in Emerging & Cross-Disciplinary Arts, Performing Arts, Traditional & Folk Arts, and Visual Arts). he application postmark deadline is June 22, 2007. Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Terminal
Alaska State Council on the Arts is requesting qualifications from artists for artwork to be commissioned for the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Terminal. At this time, the public art committee requests qualifications for interior art at three locations: Check In / Ticket Lobby, Commission up to $300,000; The "knuckle" Clerestory, Commission up to $100,000; and Concourse B Corridor and Gates, Commission up to $300,000. This RFQ is open to all statewide, national and international artists and teams of artists. Artists may be considered for more than one site. Submitted packets of qualifications will be judged on a competitive basis from which up to five finalists will be selected for each site and paid to develop a proposal for the building.
